Your Diet affects your Health.
"Eat to Live don't Live to Eat."
Let me just say that I am not a doctor or dietician. What I have learned has been from extensive research and my own experience with the ideas that I write about. I encourage everyone to read, do their own research, and decide on a plan specific to yourself. As it’s not a one size fits all.
And if you are already on medications for some of your issues, I would discuss with your doctor about changes you might make. As being on medications that can alter your body and the way it handles food can have a dramatic effect if you change what you are eating.
Although from my personal experience with doctors about health issues, most do not think that diet is the main cause, or that we are able to maintain a meaningful change in our diet that will be beneficial to our health and remove the health issues.
There is so much conflicting research and opinions on every aspect of our diet for and against all of these ideas. And there are just as many ways to change your diet to make a lasting beneficial impact on your health. I agree with many of these ideas both for and against, and I only try to make the most informed decision that I am able to and then put it into practice and see if it helps.
I believe the best possible diet is one that contains the foods that we have been eating for eons. Our body has developed through evolution to deal with these foods. Any food that has been created by a chemical process or in a lab is obviously not on that list. And how can the things that we have been eating for so long not be good for us but something that they created is somehow better for us. Are scientists and chemists smarter than mother nature and our evolution.
My personal experiences and research lead me to the conclusion, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but carbohydrates eaten to excess and eaten year-round have a detrimental effect on your health.
There are so many advantages to going Keto/Low-Carb/Carnivore. To start with the establishment says that Carbohydrates are the body’s main supply of energy and this is not true. The truth is that when you eat Carbs your body goes into fat storing mode. It actually stops your body from burning fat for fuel. You lose your body’s ability to be metabolically flexible. Meaning you don’t switch from carbs to fat for energy. There are many pathways for your body to heal itself and all of them are stopped by consuming carbohydrates. Although these mechanisms need specific circumstances to happen and be beneficial. Intermittent Fasting and Fasting help these mechanisms repair your body. The mechanisms that repair the body are Autophagy, Apoptosis, human growth hormone release and stem cell release. Each of these have roles that help to get rid of toxins, fix or eliminate damaged cells, and renew cells in our body. Making us healthy. The pills that doctors prescribe do not address the cause of our ailments they only hide the symptoms. You have to get to the root cause and Carbs are the cause. They are inflammatory.
My experience with quitting carbohydrates and vegetable oils.
- Arthritis disappeared
- Blood Pressure became normal and quit taking medications that I had taken for years without satisfactory results.
- Acid reflux/heartburn disappeared. This was a major problem, as I was always eating Rolaids or Tums. I was diagnosed with H. Pylori infection and was told this was the issue, but after anti-biotics and things like Pepcid etc. the symptoms persisted for years upon years.
- Bloating and gas disappeared for the most part.
- Acne got better.
- Tooth abscesses ceased.
- A cyst on my thumb disappeared, a doctor told me we would need to do surgery to get rid of it. Already had it removed once with surgery, but it returned.
- A big polyp in my sinuses disappeared, a doctor told me the only way to get rid of it was surgery.
- Ongoing sinus infections disappeared.
- Pre-diabetic symptoms disappeared.
- Hypoglycemia disappeared.
- Energy levels increased with no crashes and no need for naps
- mental clarity and focus got much better
- “Brain Fog” disappeared.
- Hunger decreased, and you don’t have to eat all day long.
- Feel better overall.
- And a host of other benefits that came with all of this.
